Presented with a keyboard and short instructions, viewers search for images from the internet that are then played back rapidly.
This piece uses the internet as a database of cultural images. The search results portray our complex relationships between the words we use and the connotations they carry. Stringing these images together, presents a holistic interpretation of how we see the world. They come from an abundance of perspectives, and merge into each other. At a rate of 24 "frames" per second(the same speed as film), your eye never fully grasps one image and is left with afterimages that blend into the next. This creates the effect of movement in film and animation, since these images are so different from one another animation occurs between similar objects and abstract forms. The rapid synthesis of meanings illustrates a deeper, more whole, and subliminal perspective on the imagery of our culture.
